Texas Hold-Em player for just shy of 10 years. Have played in < 10 cash tournaments outside my home. I host a regular home NLHE tournament. Delusions of one day trying to get to higher buy-ins and maybe go professional.

My game can always use a little work.

Feel free to use this explanation to truly understand how badly lotteries are to the people who play them.

comment Classic Books for Texas Hold'Em
It was a concern when I was looking for a book, but this early entry from him seems to have him with his "Brat down". Good information.

comment Ante + BB all-in, what can the BB win?
This is accurate except for the math surrounding the missed player. I'd plus one this if the number of counted opponents matched the OP.

Please make sure you address the situation of what to do when the bounty is not monetary but an object.

Can you give more details to the environment on this? Home-game vs card room vs casino, Type of tourney, and what the bounty was?

comment Are There Good Points-Based Ways To Handicap Home Poker Tournaments?
Yes, the buy-in for each tourney is always the same. Though the payout will depend on the number of buy-ins. Also, the payouts 2+1 for each 9. So we track how much you cash, but that amount is not relevant to your ranking.

On the one hand, it is to reward the top players at the end of a six month run. But at the same time it's nice to keep the social aspect to help those who are weaker feel like they are progressing. In general I'm focussed more on a good point system. But on the side I'm curious if anyone has found any handicapping system to use.
