Writing good code is an art form. The challenge is not just in figuring out how to do what it is that is being asked. More than that, the true challenge is doing it properly. And quickly. Then throw in a bit of making sure it's easy to read and maintain. Finish with a dash of elegance. Voila! Good code.
Here is something I wrote (lock-free-stack on github, MIT license) that I'm working on in my spare time. It is the foundation of a high performance computing library. There is an article about it on Code Project.
