By day I work as a programmer/CEO/one-man-show at a small software development company called Interware Innovations. In my spare time, I'm the CEO of an online poker training site: Grinderschool.com

@StevenRoose: Yes, that's the minimum. Any amount over the minimum is also allowed (no specific increments required).

It's been a couple of years since I played in any of those. Honestly, I do not recall what method they followed.

You're right - you can play for play money. Though you can't do freerolls. I'll update accordingly.

I believe that Pokerstars does not let US players create an account at all. I assume that means virtual money play is out too. Will try...

I believe the final equation had one too many close-parenthesis (7 opens, 8 closes).

comment Should I call opponent's flop re-raise with trips?
@amigal: If I believed his answer to be downright wrong, I would consider it to be my responsibility to downvote. But that's not what happened here. And I was not saying that he needed to change his answer. The site locks in votes after an hour. I can't undo my vote unless he clicks edit, even if all he edits is adding a space. Technically, I can fake-edit it myself to create the same effect, but I thought that would be abusing my moderator status.

Shorthand for "Positive expected value." Basically, a situation where you can reasonably expect the play to be profitable.

comment Should I call opponent's flop re-raise with trips?
@amigal: I agree. I flat out said that I would remove the downvote if I could. I still would. That said, I still think over-betting the pot is pretty marginal. I'm not saying that because I would play it differently. I'm saying it because of what I believe the impact of an overbet like this would be (namely, causing him to fold a huge majority of the hands in his range that we beat).

comment Is just calling the big blind a poor strategy?
I do not think the author is referring to players in the big blind in this quote. I believe he is indeed referring to limping as opposed to raising.

comment Should I call opponent's flop re-raise with trips?
I disagreed with that part of the answer, and hadn't had my coffee yet. I still disagree with that part of the answer, but I do agree with you that it's not worthy of a downvote. I need you to edit something to be able to remove the downvote though.

Raising to $60 into a $50 pot is pretty standard. $90 to $110 would be pretty far over the top.

comment Are seat re-assignments random in multi-table tournaments?
Yes, a player can definitely know. I don't recall ever playing a live tournament in which I did not know. It's often clearly stated, but it is not bad form to ask the tournament organizers which tables will break first.
