Can you win while “short a card” in poker? Why would you be short a card? I understand the rule in draw poker is that if there aren't enough cards to deal out, the dealer either shuffles the set of discarded cards and uses those. Another variation is that a "community card" is dealt if the dealer runs out of cards. Either way, each player can make up a full hand, |

Distribution of Badugi Hands I purposefully ignored suits because it doesn't change the answer. Surely there are 4!=24 combinations of suits for each badugi, regardless of level. So the 24 is a constant factor and doesn't affect the result. |

Distribution of Badugi Hands Yeah, it's as though you're all-in in round 1, and everyone stands pat each round |

NL200: Deep Stacked IP; 4Bet pot His range is based on the premise that my original question is true. If he's not the kind of player to re-resteal, then his range is obviously much tighter. |

What are the most important elements of poker to model in a Monte Carlo simulation? I have a similar project with the following additions: - Betting is simulated - Players fold / raise / call based on pre-determined strategies (e.g. CallingStn always calls, Maniac always raises All-in, Nit folds <=2nd pair on flop etc.) - For each MC round, the results are added to each strategy's EV accumulator. The MC simulation can then begin to compare strategies against each other. What I ultimately want to do then is find optimal counter strategies to certain lines. Particularly Heads-up. |
