comment Finding leaks in your game
I know, I just... couldn't help it. In heads'up situations, UTG and SB are basically the same thing. So shoving with A2s is +EV or -EV ? I just thought the contradiction seemed interesting :) , you can ignore it.

"shoving A2s from UTG is a stupid move, but if you shove it from the SB its +EV". What if you're heads'up ? :))

Actually, there are a lot more complex tools that can analyze your game given the provided hand histories. Based on them, the software will even tell you what strategies to employ to improve your game. What PokerStars or other platfroms tell you is pretty much close to nothing.

Pfff... I think this would require quite a vast answer... It's an important question, though. I would keep it.

comment NL100: Can I Call This River Shove?
"he's got TT. (Maybe 22, 33)" It would be way better to have some arguments for why you think the Villain has a set. Some analysis is required, based on the available information; just picking some hole cards off the top of your head is not good enough.

comment What different types of poker game are there?
Poker.SE is still in beta, so as many questions and answers as possible is always welcome. However, in this particular case, I think this is too much of a beginner's question. Besides, all this information is one Google search away. Or Bing search, if you like corporate crap.

comment In live play, why do poker players wait their turn before looking at their cards?
@Halvard Not really. The live play on TV thing was only an example to show that this tendency is everywhere. Whether you're on TV or not, the reasons to look at your cards up-front or when it's your turn should be the same. But I understand your concern, I will think about how I can edit the question to remove this ambiguity. Thank you.

comment Why can't folded hands compete for sidepots?
No. He either has to call that extra $90 or fold and get nothing. It would've been great if you asked this in the comments.

comment Can I move HUD info on PokerTracker?
While Poker.SE is still in beta and therefore we want as many questions as possible, it would be best if they were actually about poker. Tweaking poker software doesn't really qualify.

comment AKo all in v 57o?
I think the most important factor is the fact that you're SEVERELY short stacked with just 6 BB. Shoving there was a good move.

comment The more advice I read - the worse I play. What am I doing wrong?
I really want to agree with you, but I strongly believe you're wrong: consecutive hands are not totally independent from each other. A series of consecutive hands that a player wins or loses determines his mental state (example: tilt), it determines his VPiP, his table image and many more. Just like in other games (boxing, tennis etc.), a new round seems to be independent; but your decision process in that new round is HEAVILY INFLUENCED by the previous rounds... or at least it should be. After all, it's one of the core concepts of poker.

comment Have people been playing “40% strategies” in tournaments in the current century?
I don't know who wrote that book, but that's definitely a losing strategy. One of your opponents can easily wake up with a premium hand when you shove with Q 8. And you're out. And again the next day. And the next. And the next. Pushing EVERY hand heads'up is even worse. Your opponent will just wait for a hand that gives him good equity against 1 single random hand and calls. His AJ will then beat your 9 7.

I don't disagree with you (after all, most answers here will have a substantial amount of subjectivity in them), but how can someone like the game without knowing the game ?

Based on what happened post-flop, I suspect you had position on the other guy. I'm 99.999 % sure, but please confirm.

comment Quantifying the amount of skill required to win a tournament
Actually, if you ask anyone who knows poker, (s)he'll tell you that poker is a game of skill. Yes, it can be quite hard to quantify, but it's the most important factor to consider if you're wondering who's going to win in a poker game...
