comment Pocket pair starting hands vs. probability of opponent having a pocket pair
If you are wondering why the wiki entries are wrong then I think it is because the probabilities were treated as independent instead of dependently. If I have time I will try to post an answer showing how you would actually calculate these entries. It is worth noting that the table you provide is just from a simulation of 1 million hands and so not exact (although it is accurate enough for any purposes)

Also you might want to consider treating the probabilities as discrete distributions as everything is equally likely. This is obviously not possible for even small calculations but it gives better understanding of what is going on. If we use the die example with just 2 rolls we see that the possible combinations are: {11,12,13,14,15,16,21,22,23,24,25,26,31,32,33,34,35,36,41,42,43,44,45,46,51,52,5‌3,54,55,56,61,62,63,64,65,66} Now that is 36 possibilities each as likely as each other and 25 don't have a 6 so there is 25/36=0.694r chance of not having a 6

What relation does this answer have to the question?

can I suggest a more descriptive post title. I think a lot of calculations are strange. Maybe something to do with starting hands and pocket pairs.

comment The Importance of Mathematics in Poker
I'm not sure the idea that because we have incomplete information that means that it will never be a purely mathematical challenge. I'm not saying that poker is a purely mathematical challenge but there is a lot (most of applied maths) maths dedicated to treating situations where we have incomplete information.

comment Is Colin Moshmans Book Still A Relevant Micro SNG Reference
Thanks. Although it is the same game you are playing against other people and their strategies so when they change you need to change. For example if you picked up supersytem and played online in micro sng and even at higher stakes you will get crushed (or at least not doe that well)

In light of the comments below I think that this question should be re-written to take bankroll issues into consideration as that seems to be what the OP is actually asking about.

@gonvaled regardless its still a bankroll issue and that means that its relative to how big your bankroll is. So your question is not to do with having pocket aces but about what percentage of your bankroll you should risk at cash game. This is a very different question and depends on lots of different things. For example if you are trying to build a bankroll (and arguably after as well) you should never have more than 10% of your bankroll in front of you at once, so you should have left the table. The same argument applies, if you are playing the game/have sat down/have not gotten up then you

comment Do two or more players colluding against honest players gain on average more money, or not?
I'm not sure this is a great answer. First off I don't think that just because you don't think that the "powers that be" don't do anything about it (I'm pretty sure that is a reasonable amount of software online to attempt to prevent things like this on a large scale) means that there is no advantage-they could be wrong. Also I'm not sure how much motivation they would have to stop colluding unless someone complained, they will be taking money in regardless.

The intuitive way that I like to think of ICM is that the more chips you have the less the chips you can win are worth. So that when calculating the pot odds, as an example, If you have to call 200 to win 200 then the 200 you have to call with (your own chips) are worth more than the chips you stand to win

@gonvaled I have to say with these comments your question is starting to make less sense. Why are you moving tables to a bigger stakes game if it is cash? Also if your question relates to how much someone would risk on AA pre-flop then it is really not an appropriate question, it's completely subjective as it totally depends on your bankroll and that is pretty much different for every person. In relation to tournament play and Sng's it's actually reasonable that ICM will dictate that you should lay down AA, I think the situation will occur more often than one might think.

comment Mathematical Derivation of the Chen Formula
@TobyBooth yeah I think the word derivation is causing some problems. I am not asking how to calculate the Chen number of a specific hand, I am asking "how Chen came up with the formula" which would be some sort of game theoretic analysis (something similar to what is in his book). It is a question that is very mathematical in nature so maybe not best suited to this forum at this time (hopefully in the future). Thanks for the help anyway. If I find an answer I will come back and submit it but I appreciate that it's probably not appropriate at this time. Thanks

@TobyBooth Can I ask why people do not understand what I am asking? Is there confusion by what I mean by "derivation"? I am asking for future reference in relation to asking questions on this site I am not attempting to be argumentative or inflammatory in any sense. Thanks very much
