Here's a little joke that cracks me up:

So, a guy walks up to me and says, "I'm a tepee. I'm a wigwam. I'm a tepee! I'm a wigwam!" I said to him, "Relax, man. You're two tents!"

@Toby: please don't put words in my mouth. I made no such agreement. On the contrary, I did not take sides in the argument. I can see why people would think you are not contributing votes on your own questions, but I can see the other side too. You have been contributing to this beta by posting questions, and that is probably more valuable at this point than votes. I'm not passing judgement on your contributions.

Many players would check-raise on the turn when they had a Queen "fairly often" because they are expecting the Villain to bet again with an Ace, with a draw, or with air.

It seemed to me that you were advocating a bet.you did say that you " didn't like [betting] at all," but earlier you also said" you have only one option and its betting."

Maybe I misunderstood your point, then. :) You're welcome regardless.

"The only way to win is by betting" is not a (valid) reason to bet.

While a proper answer to this question, especially the "why and when" part could take an entire book, I do think it's an excellent question that can be given at least some treatment here. +1 from me for the question.

If everyone did as the OP suggested, the game would break because everybody went home.
