Here's a little joke that cracks me up:
So, a guy walks up to me and says, "I'm a tepee. I'm a wigwam. I'm a tepee! I'm a wigwam!" I said to him, "Relax, man. You're two tents!"

How often, and how much, should I bluff on the river when I miss my flush but a possible straight comes? @TobyBooth: I've provided additional information and hopefully given the OP something new to think about by providing an answer to a relevant question that OP didn't ask. This is a common paradigm used by thousands of people across all SE sites. |

Poker hands - betting - best hand This is really 2 questions: A) How do you play AA when a K comes on the flop? and B) What is the best hand to raise PF and why? However, the second question is probably not appropriate for this site. |

Poker hands - betting - best hand It is inaccurate at best to describe AA as a "drawing" hand. |

What does 'freerolling' mean? In addition to a freeroll, there is also a reverse freeroll, in which there is limited or no upside to a particular gamble. Consider a situation in which you have bottom straight on a 4 flush board. If you bet and get action, there is often little chance your hand will win the whole pot, and very often you will lose the whole pot. |

How often, and how much, should I bluff on the river when I miss my flush but a possible straight comes? In addition to what Jeffrey has said, consider that it is often better to bluff a busted straight when a flush comes than to bluff a busted flush when a straight comes. This is certianly not universal, but straights have a tendancy to be more well-hidden than flushes. |

Which requires more skill, cash game or tournament poker? Actually, I think there is a correct answer to this question. |

Is shoving all in with a weaker player the best strategy? I disagree, and I think this is results-oriented thinking. |

Is shoving all in with a weaker player the best strategy? OP didn't ask if the strategy is valid -- OP asked if shoving is the best play. The answer to that question has to be "no". |

How often will pocket aces lose to 4 flush or set after the flop? Thanks for the clarification. Since I didn't know his actual holding, I couldn't simulate OP's exact scenario. But now that you know about the Rule of 2/4 and PokerStove, you can do this yourself! |

How often will pocket aces lose to 4 flush or set after the flop? @Ivan: Pocket Aces will win more money in the long-run against more players than it will against fewer. Volatility will also be higher but we, as sufficiently-rolled poker players, should not be worried about volatility; only long-term winrate. |

Classic Books for Texas Hold'Em You want to know what the classic books are? Or do you want to know what the best books are? As the game is played by more and more people, the state of the art evolves, and the books that were once considered to be the Gold Standard may provide suboptimal advice for contemporary games. |

Classic Books for Texas Hold'Em IMO this book was terrible. Not for PH's attitude, but for his advice. He advocates a weak-tight style that limit's a players ability to win or to learn. I would stay away from this book. |

Classic Books for Texas Hold'Em The Small Stakes Holdem book was really more by Ed Miller than by David Sklansky. Although I'm sure Sklansky will assume all the credit, the book was written almost entirely by Miller. |

Main differences between Limit and No Limit Hold'em "A second raise probably means AA and you should get out." This is not nearly as universally true as it used to be. |
