Systems Architect and Application Developer for the State of California.
I am most experienced with the Microsoft stack (ASP.Net MVC, C#, Entity Framework, SQL), but rapid advances in rich web clients have me spending lots of time studying Responsive Web Design (HTML5 + CSS3) and working with most prolific JavaScript libraries: jQuery, Underscore, and Backbone.js.
I fiddle with MongoDB here and there as well, and soon may have a true-to-life (non-fanboy) use-case for Node.js. (only teasing)
I am always interested in working with other developers, participating in open source projects, interested in start-up endeavors. Contact me. My email is provided below in code - all you have to do is know two words to build it:
string secondWord; // Initialize - 4 letters - the sound produced by repeatedly
// striking a drum...or slang adjective for 'exhausted'.
string thirdWord; // Initialize - 8 letters - a person who eats, drinks, ingests,
// and purchases things.
var email = ((42/42).toString() + "." + secondWord + "." +
thirdWord + "@gmail.com").toLower();
Console.Write(email);

How to Calculate Hand Odds in Texas Hold'em for the record - poker.stackexchange.com/questions/32/… - notice how the most votes when to a tooling answer not the simple math formula that someone "estimated" - the question is practically the same, might as well just delete this one then |

How to Calculate Hand Odds in Texas Hold'em All the tools do is help you learn the math. I figured "calculating hand odds" was "math" and that i said books, websites, computer or phone apps left it open for resources... also, some stacks are more about theory like Programmers for instance when things do not always have a right answer. Poker for instance will be one of those stacks whether its creators want it to or not... because other than did i count 7/52 cards right, its all theory and play style. |

What is the purpose of a continuation bet, and when is it best applied in Hold'em? One more thing... I think some of the creators and enthusiasts here are going to realize this stack is going to naturally be more like Programmers and StackOverflow - in that it will inherently be more discussion than simple tit-for-tat Q & A... it's just the nature of poker. If it were as simply and black and white as code syntax we'd all be rich. |

What is the purpose of a continuation bet, and when is it best applied in Hold'em? +1 - Excellent explanation. While it can't possibly cover the broadness of the question it is a great definition and concrete example to reference for learning. Thank you. |

What is the purpose of a continuation bet, and when is it best applied in Hold'em? My intention was not to be too broad, but to get some content moving. It is an important question to any enthusiast, and this stack could use a lot more traffic if it hopes to survive. Remember too, every bit shared in a vague question will guide the Asker to more specific questions - and thus we all win. |

What are Pot Odds, and how do I determine them? @Toby no problem at all. i like learning and love discussion. :) What's annoying is when folks downvote a better answer to protect there own. My answer is the only mathematically correct one posted. Oh well. :) |

What are Pot Odds, and how do I determine them? @toby Already noted in my answer below. Also, call it semantics but as I understand Pot Odds are strictly explicit and "right now". Implicit Odds odds are your estimates of pot odds on future actions, but until others have acted and it is your turn again, they are just "guesstimates", not pot odds. |

How to Calculate Hand Odds in Texas Hold'em I also read the "Good subjective / Bad subjective" blog post and still do not see why this should be closed. |
