comment NL100: Can I Call This River Shove?
Timid as in fearful & hesitant. It's my read that he's likely to fold too much when facing considerable aggression. Given that I believe he's uncomfortable in these situations, I also believe he's likely of making an error regarding the strength of the hands he can play against me.

It occurred to me that check-call would be a better line here usually too!

comment What are the odds of being dealt exactly the same 2 hole cards in consecutive hands?
To get the hand once, yes. Twice in a row it's (1/1326) * (1/1326)

comment What are the odds of being dealt exactly the same 2 hole cards in consecutive hands?
Likelihood of one hand, multiplied by itself, (n) times, Where n=consecutive. I believe. Too short to be an answer really. One hand is 1 in 1326 for NLHE

comment How is Poker a game of skill?
Hi User1010. Just a quick note to say that readability is of great importance here, so structuring you sentences, using capitalization, all help improve the site, and inevitably your posts score. You can use the editing tool to do this :) Welcome to the site.

comment Names of positions?
It's a valid question but has already had numerous answers dedicated to it. Check the link I referenced. Also, before asking a question, use the search function (Top of page, I suggest "Position" or something similar for this one). You'll usually find what you're looking for :)

No need to apologize :) Simply put, your emotions are ruling your thoughts and play little part in a strong players game. Having the best hand, and getting all your chips in is best... always. The real consideration here is bankroll management. Keep that in mind, but first, work on the fundamentals, i.e. Odds, Hand Reading, Positional Strategy

To be clear, in NLHE, you should ALWAYS get all of your chips in pre-flop if it's possible. I'd agree with your suggestion that the OP switches to playing even at the lowest stakes possible, than spending time on play money tables.

comment The more advice I read - the worse I play. What am I doing wrong?
The suggestion of making "First Principles" a priority is a useful one. As for your point on the independence of hands, I'd say that the process of decision making should be unchanged, hand-to-hand, but the inputs (i.e. available information) are dynamic. I actually think this is what you may have meant in the first place.

I thought this might be useful also. It's a very good site overall for building useful mental models farnamstreetblog.com/2013/06/…

comment Online Poker League
Does the WSOP even offer this kind of functionality for online players? I notice a lot of your answers are similar to this, just linking the WSOP. If you can't be more specific in regards to the question, then it's not really appropriate here. Please consider clarifying your answers. Thanks.

comment What I did was right?
The action says you "called" on the flop, but were first to act? I think you mean bet, or check, bu I can't be sure. Please take a look at the terminology because it's important when retelling a hand history. Edit as appropriate. Otherwise it's an interesting question :)

comment 1/2 NL: Call this villain's all-in with top pair, ace kicker?
With AK in Hero's hand and one King on the flop, there are only 6 combos of AK left, not 9 as you state. Does this affect your answer?
