comment Cost Effective Ideas for Promoting a Poker Wiki?
If it's specific to Las Vegas, then local promotion is the way to go. Business cards, flyers and posters placed and given out around Las Vegas would build the best audience. A shorter URL would also be good, like pcw.is or something. I know I'm much more likely to check a site on my mobile if it's quick to get to. Finally, searching for and posting a link on existing similar initiatives such as Facebook pages, twitter groups and linked in groups could boost membership as well. Good luck!

Thank you for adding this, it's comforting for poker in general, though I'd still be a little bit worried about it if I was entering an extremely long game where I'll probably get tired, as that's where PEDs would provide the most advantage.

Do you really have the same mathematical chance of winning as a player who has 300 BBs while you have 10 BBs? How do you justify assigning a monetary value to your chip stack before you're at the payout stage? - until the bubble bursts your chips are worth nothing but a shot at winning. I've upvoted as it's an interesting answer, but it's also a bit confusing.

The community spirit, support and encouragement is astounding here. I can see why the site is flourishing. :)

Visible effects means it's sometimes very obvious when someone is high. Which led on to the question 'How would a situation be handled if it was thought that they were using these drugs?' I wasn't commenting on whether those drugs do enhance performance and that's not what this is about. The field of nootropics boasts some interesting possibilities that may introduce new synthetic PEDs in future, I'm wondering how drug taking in general, and particularly performance enhancing drug taking, is or would be handled in professional poker.

I guess my point is perhaps they should be. The problem of course is that you can't tell rich people what to do because you might not get a tip. :) Anyway, I just wanted to pose that spin off question to you, thank you for discussing it. </lastcomment>

I disagree, if there was a bona fide performance enhancing drug, that could have harmful effects (which arguably there are many of [not my point though]), you would be at a disadvantage because you aren't willing to risk your long term health for a short term gain - and it's unfair because to gain the equal advantage you will potentially sacrifice your health.

I didn't actually ask if it was right or wrong, again: would anyone not using a 'bona fide' PED be at a disadvantage against anyone who is?

Thanks for answering, does that not then mean that anyone not using a 'bona fide' PED is at a disadvantage against anyone who is? I'd be pretty annoyed to come back after a break to see some dude wired up on Cocaine who's just obliviated all of the possible tells I'd gathered. Moreover, in a game like the pokerstars 24 hour cash game (or longer can't remember) PEDs like Cocaine certainly would provide an unfair advantage.

I'm not sure what to tag this with and posting on mobile.

I'm glad for you. I find it surprising that your 'experienced' playing buddies never make mistakes. Even dealers with 30 years of experience make mistakes / have accidents sometimes.

@LeeDanielCrocker In that case, remind me to never play at your home games! :/ Poker is slow enough without adjourning a court session and debating a single hand. My rules are simple, and they avoid that silliness. And I'm not talking about high stakes or professional poker.

@LeeDanielCrocker What if it's a 4 man game and everyone is in the pot? (As is common)

@Jon thanks for you answer, generally I mean all three game types, but it's most common in tournaments, less in SnGs and even less in cash - but they do exist everywhere.
